We have a new dealer spotlight for you this week! Let's give a round of applause to Rocky's Music in Sylvester, Georgia. Like Cumberland Guitars, Lyman Guitar has quite a bit of history with Rocky's Music.

As mentioned in the last dealer spotlight, before Lyman Guitar began, our co-founders were authorized dealers for multiple guitar brands such as Gibson, Epiphone, Martin, Yamaha, and much more. One of our co-founders was invited to tour the Yamaha facility in Japan around 2017 and coincidentally, so was Rocky. Everywhere he went, Rocky was nearby and day after day, they slowly became trip buddies. As they began discussing future plans for their stores, our co-founder mentioned starting a new guitar line (Lyman Guitar) and Rocky was ecstatic! Rocky wanted to have a few guitars featured in his store and the rest is... well, you know the ending. :)

We have built a great relationship with Rocky's Music and it continues to grow to this day. Rocky has years and years of experience with anything guitar. Upon walking into his store in Sylvester, Georgia, the atmosphere is nothing but friendly and welcoming. You will feel like home!

You can visit Rocky's Music at 113 Front Street, Sylvester, Georgia, 31791 or to just say 'hello', call (229) 821-3158!

We are doing a new feature here on Lyman Guitar - a DEALER SPOTLIGHT. Here we highlight some of our biggest supporters and showcase their store and business! Let's start off with Cumberland Guitars in Kentucky.

Mark Blasko has been in the guitar game since the age of 7. By high school, he quickly realized that everything and anything about guitars were going to be his life's work. He has performed in multiple bands and ensembles throughout his younger years and by the age of 18, he became manager of a vintage guitar shop. Adding credibility to his name, Blasko has held many notable positions involving guitar including sales, repair, teaching, and luthiership. His expertise does not stop there. Mark managed Guitar Center's Vintage and Platinum Atlanta office for several years before becoming a product specialist for Gibson Brands and later, Fender. If there is anyone you should trust on knowledge within the guitar world, Mark is your guy.

So, how did Lyman Guitar meet Cumberland Guitars?

We have known Mark Blasko while our founders were still authorized dealers for Gibson and Fender - he was our rep! At this time, Lyman Guitar was established and once Mark opened his own store, we aligned forces and sent our guitars to Kentucky! Since then, he has been Lyman Guitar's biggest supporter and our 2021 DEALER OF THE YEAR! We have always taken his critiques into consideration, his opinions, and suggestions when it came to Lyman Guitar. The relationship we have built with Cumberland Guitars and Mark Blasko has been and will be the definition of partnership.

His store is located at 318 Monument Square, Jamestown, KY 42629. Visit Mark

for any of your guitar needs or concerns, we

promise he is who you want to go to!

Out of the entire guitar, our most important feature that we focus on the most during production are the necks. They dictate the playability, comfort, and define your sound.

Lyman Guitar has a secret formula to how we sand and treat our necks. (Of course, we won't be able to share that ;) ) Every once in a while, we come across the most beautiful flamed maple necks and are super excited the share the beauty with you!

Flamed maple is found in a small percentage of maple trees and the more signature and distinct pieces come from under 1% of maple trees. Flamed maple is not the actual grain of the wood but is done by a phenomenon known as chatoyancy, or cat eye effect. This particular effect runs perpendicular to the actual grain. One cause of chatoyancy is the tree undergoing stress as it grows causing the grain to curl back on itself. As maple lovers, we take full advantage of this beautiful phenomenon by adding a variety of treatments to the neck. We want to be as true to the wood as possible without the use of heavy glosses or lacquers. Lyman Guitar should feel natural to you.

Are you lucky enough to have a piece of flamed maple on your Lyman Guitar?
